Breakfast
The Horizon

14th November, 2007

Released: 12th November, 2007
Label: Flashover Recordings

The recently featured Trance Hub artist Breakfast has come up with his latest offerings, "The Horizon" and "Dancing By The Moonlight". Those who follow the weekly Trance radio shows know how much "The Horizon" is played by the top jocks! Okay here's the bit - Tune Of The Week in A State Of Trance, Web Vote Winner in Trance Around The World and Nr. 1 in Corsten's Countdown! Not only this, these two releases are ranked Nr. 5 and Nr. 9 on Trance Beatport charts within 3 days of its release! Denying the fact that Breakfast is one of the most talented producers today would be silly! Let's get thoroughgoing.

The Horizon
The offset music of this track typifies 'turning-the-engines off' kind of effect for a short period of time. Airplane or your neighbour's car, I leave it up to your imaginations. Soon the beats emerge up to the groovy organic synths with grunges that Breakfast is known to put in his productions. The synth to beat coordination is amazingly worked on here. The lifting beat punches a small riffed out melody and a fainted score is played in the background with ascending pitch alterations. Following the startup the track oblivions into a breakdown with the organic grunges solely played and then Breakfast's earmark 'Dhasss' breakaway sound is played at 4:38 minute, the breakdown then soon occurs with the music going all rushy accompanied by a strange slendrized seething melody, a major aspect of this track, however, I am very happy with the heavy bass in this track and the real tonal value is held by the seething melody I just talked about. This pretty much carries on till 7:50 minute and then all you hear is finishing beats. A fresh new Breakfast tune on serves for all you Trance hungry peepz!

Dancing In The Moonlight
Here is a confession, this track was instantly liked by me because "The Sunlight" had some melodic elements that can be found in "The Horizon". But Breakfast has pulled an amazing ambient stunner with this one! Something like this was least expectant from Casey boy. The music calmly flirts with your mood. Gentle start on the percs and a wavy choir gives way to your aural exemption. The beats feel airy, more on the obscure notes of an Ambient Trancer. A fore running melodic synth is introduced leading a great musical meaning to one's soul. At around 4:15 minute your sub woofers get the real treat, the bass flow takes on to the mood with the elongated melody, a bone chilling tune yet a sense soothing healer. "Dancing In The Moonlight" like "The Horizon" or "The Sunlight" has a stretched beat outro and if you don't know what I meant by the 'Dhasss' effect, you can hear it at 9:54 minute in this 10:14 minute ecstasy.
