8th October, 2007

Released: 21st August, 2007
Label: Anjunabeats

America's Andrew Bayer and Scottish Alan Nimmo aka Signalrunners continue their electronic production legacy with "Recoil". Their latest offering on AVA Records bestow sounds heavily sublimed from the electrifying makeover these producers have induced off late. The release offers 3 remixes by Matzo, Chad Cisneros and Ramiro Puente. It sets off a great example of remixing trends and an insight in the studios.

Signalrunners - Recoil [Original Mix]
With an optimum and a well balanced headway to the beats, a predictable electro-bassline intro takes charge of the track. Followed by minimal synth that forms a continual tempo pitching up and fading off with the minimal synths again, this time supported by a hissy spiral effect where it is phenomenally converted into a techie breakdown. One of the best I heard this year. Juice for your ears! Post breakdown the bassline goes rapid and simultaneously succeeds with the minimal but now fully developed synths. To put an emotional component to the track a sugary tune sets up for a small time. The bassline continues for the next few moments and beats do the finale honours. Call this tune progressive or uplifting, this tune sounds modern, very modern.

Signalrunners - Recoil [Matzo Remix]
Up next, a remix by the unheard Matzo, I am sure after this remix Matzo will be a known name globally. If you want to check how a beautiful original remixed into an absolute beauty, listen to this mix. The genre is not stripped off, the feel remains elevating. The minimal synths show their presence and are heavily subjugated by the long stretched tune introduced by the remixer. Distorted - voyage like - time defying and exhilaratingly dancy, this is Matzo's remix to indulge your senses.

Signalrunners - Recoil [Chad Cisneros Remix]
Chad Cisneros has given "Recoil" a dark perspective, crafting out a really skilled remix. The track starts on the techno notes and a complete stringy makeover to the bassline makes it sound groovy. However, the identical synths of "Recoil [Original Mix]" are still heard. They are later brilliantly twisted into techno mode that shows Chad's technics. The music here is more off the mood and marching on the percs. So, if you have a mood for some crazy listening and just want to move, Chad Cisneros remix does it for you.

Signalrunners - Recoil [Ramiro Puente Remix]
Mexican Ramiro Puente's remix has to be trancey all the way, the very conventional sounds are the proof that the third "Recoil" remix is a remix completely justified. The track has a downtempo intro and the following electro-bassline Ramiro style is just too much for the added ecstasy. I could also trace some worked out vox and an energetic bassline to go with this remix.

This release serves you with 3 delectable remixes, all mastered in their own way. It will definitely make a great buy if you are willing to let your pocket loose and make a worthy addition to your music collection.
