Tom Cloud AKA Thomas Blum just brought us some awesome piece of freshness from his studio. The rising German talent, after his successful features in the ISOS series, comes up with his twin offerings - "Ray Of Light" and "Hidden Island". The hard-to-ignore tunes predict a great future for this man in the industry.
01 - Tom Cloud - Ray Of Light
The tune carries a raw yet subtle bass line weaved in a complete groovy atmosphere. Running parallel to the beats, we have a sweet synth and wobbled up melodic tinges. Setting the happy/mellow ratio to 70:30, Tom has kept this work identical to his "Mercury Room". Flat builds. But you'd still move to it.
02 - Tom Cloud - Hidden Island
The '90s overused percussion gets identified in the very first listen. The usage of synth-with-beat effect sees a higher ground and is tipped with an arising synth work. As if the synths are left to build up, rapidly, minutely, giving a 'lost in space' feel. Sounds truly amazing when the synth is dropped in the breakdown.
Thanks to Tom for keeping it all basic. No extra layering of synths and we have a beauty we can proudly invest in.
