"Made with my soon to be born daugther in mind.
Dedicated to the memory of Harri Aalto."
- DJ Orkidea

Released on Andy Moor's AVA label, DJ Orkidea's second artist album, Metaverse contains 10 tracks which has both Orkidea's own productions as well as his remixes. It features collaborations with the likes of Solarstone, David West, Andy Moor and Lowland.

The album opens up with the title track "Metaverse". The track starts off with rendezvous in outer space and then the main beats kick in along with the chopped up chunky vocals. There are several break downs in this track but the final climax is the most melodic part. "Metaverse" is truly a sublime track which throughout it's course gives a feel of levitation into space.

"Metaverse" follow Orkidea's well known track "Year Zero" featuring Andy Moor. Though this track might be old it sure is a treat to hear it again. Andy Moor's excellent ability to chop up vocals amplifies Orkidea's work on the beats.

Then comes "Free Dreams", my favourite track from the album. It starts off with a melodic tune and some vocals in background. There are two break downs in this track. The first track doesn't transform the track much but the second one totally changes the face of the track, introducing synth works and awesome back bass line.

Then follows Orkidea's collaboration with David West titled "God's Garden". It's hard to imagine the output of two people with totally different producing styles. David West's typical style is noticeable throughout the track. An ethnic vocal is soon to follow which gives the track a very heavenly feel thus giving the track it's name, "God's Graden".

Orkidea's collaboration with Solarstone in this album is called "Slowmotion". This track has a little darker feel to it and the synth works on this track are purely hypnotizing. A perfect track to listen to while driving on an empty highway on a silent evening.

It follows one of the best tracks in the album, "Streching Time". This track is filled with energy, melodic strings and once again, an awesome baseline.

"Masochrist" featuring Peter Lowland starts off with a soft piano tune which transforms into the main synth work on this track. Like "Metaverse", it also has some outer space talk featured in the start. The break down of this track is pure bliss.

It gives way to Orkidea's remix of Way out West's classic "Killa" along with Dallas Superstars. An amazing remix filled with enthusiasm which makes you wanna get on the dance floor. This track has background chorus in it which fills the track with even more energy.

"Requiem", it starts off with a violin work which is very dark and reminds one of war and apocalypse. The beat kicks in after 2 minutes along with the synths and soon merges with the violin work to create an absolutely massive tune!

The last tune is Orkidea's remix of "Bye Bye Beautiful" which is originally from Nightwish, a finnish metal band. The track starts off with a brilliant lead melody and excellent bass line. This track has several break downs and some chopped up vocal samples, a total conversion of a metal song. Orkidea didn't leave a trace of rock music in this remix. An excellent tune to end an amazing album!

This album will surely be a stepping-stone in DJ Orkidea's rising career.
