Andy Moor needs no introduction to majority of the readers. One of the leading acts, his name has become synonymous with the trance scene in the past few years. Delivering massive hits such as "Daydream" with Markus Schulz, "Year Zero" with Orkidea, "Halcyon" and many more, he climbed to the 30th position in the 2007 DJ Mag poll. "Fake Awake" is Andy Moor's solo production 3 years after "Halcyon".

01 - Andy Moor - Fake Awake [Original Mix]
The "Original Mix" sounds very much like a typical Andy Moor track which the fans will love in the first listen. It starts with a beat sequence which very soon blends with vocal chops and a groovy bass line to transform the tune. "Fake Awake" features Andy trademark bass line and his distinctive choppy vocal sequence which is easily recognizable. The vocals, presumably provided by Holly Reynolds, sound very melodic and uplifting. The break down completely submerges the listener in pure bliss with it's angelic voice and deep bass line.

02 - Andy Moor - Fake Awake [Ecomix]
"Ecomix" starts off in the same way as the "Original Mix" with the same beats and kicks until the bass line kicks in. This version is trancier and dance floor oriented and the break down sounds deeper, although the vocals are minimalist. The second break down is longer and then you can definitely feel the energy in the track.

03 - Andy Moor - Fake Awake [Myon & Shane 54 Remix]
The "Myon & Shane 54" AKA "The Black Army Remix" is my least favourite from the release. This remix starts off with good hard hitting beat and has a Michael Cassette like retro feel in it. The track drives a housey impact in it throughout the track and sounds really groovy after the second break down. Very well remixed by the duo, a great transformation of a trance tune into house.

All in all, an excellent release from Andy Moor, the "Original Mix" being the best from the release.
