Above & Beyond present Tranquility Base
Buzz
9th December, 2007
Released: 19th November, 2007
Label: Anjunabeats
The Tranquility Base trio are out with yet another brutal release "Buzz" this time calming our anticipation for the release after we plugged into Anjunabeats Volume 5. Above & Beyond have had one of the best years looking at the quality of releases these men have been churning out under their Tranquility Base guise. "The Tranquility Base project is an excuse to flex our club production muscles, try out new things and have some fun". "Buzz" is one of the quality productions that comes with Breakfast's pepped up remix. The original stands to bring instant apocalypse on any dance floor.
01 - Above & Beyond present Tranquility Base - Buzz [Original Mix]
There are rare trance records that can make you feel highly estranged and dancy at the same time. What may sound as a normal looped out start for one, the rhythmic beats soon get added into a buttery worked out bass line! It is the electro bass line that heavily backups the track, a highlight of one's rhapsodic listening. The to and fro bass line, capable of being bouncy at the same time get your body working out right on the dance floor. The atmospheric pad parallels the bass line and is silently brought into an ambient halt, where you can smell the air... stand under the dark blue sky and get ready for a massive break down to lose yourself somewhere in the sounds. Bass line and grooves embed to the beats with a slightly fast tempo to end this monster. This stunner might just prove to be one of the most unconventional productions the Trance genre has ever seen because the electro elements, without any schematic Trance music input can send you on a chaotic enrapture. One of my personal best of year 2007!
02 - Above & Beyond present Tranquility Base - Buzz [Breakfast Remix]
Breakfast did the remix in his own way and has introduced his style throwing out the original electronic bass line completely or even working on it. Listening to the tune itself relates Breakfast's remix getting identical to his previous production styles. The remix sees some elongated work on the multi-synths, one of which sounds exactly taken out of "The Sunlight", but that could be the reason we call it a great Breakfast Remix. Where the original had a very predicable break down, Breakfast has worked on a very subtle one here. The track starts with light percs and after a minute and a half you can hear the siren intro where the multi-synth work gets into progression. It builds up into a subtlest of break down, a place where you can trace the original "Buzz" pads. The airy sounds get musical hints in the sixth minute and the remaining two minutes get a little exorbitant, no wonder this is a 9:22 minutes track! This track gives me a feeling of standing into a hall and listening to music!
Breakfast's remix completely differs from the original with minimal feel to his music, a real gift to Casey's fans.
