Paul van Dyk
Vandit German

25th September, 2007

He is the man who gave us "For An Angel", the evergreen trance anthem. He is the one who gives a tough time to the Dutch DJs in the Top 100. Paul van Dyk is the German reply to all the Dutch DJs and producers. Not just confiding to the boundaries of Trance music, PvD is known to master great production techniques and pioneer EDM scene greatly. You see laser lights, you see groovy crowd, you see a deck and atop that you see the God, PvD's face shines from far away and the masses surrender to his sounds.

PvD has been producing some real intense music, his albums like 'Reflections' or the latest 'In Between', it's not only Trance music that he has served. He wants to be recognized as an electronic music DJ rather than limiting himself to a Trance music DJ. This man can go Techno, House and Electronica too! We shouldn't forget the remixes he recently did for the metal band Rammstein or even electronic rockers Depeche Mode, showing his interest towards rocktronic music.

Matthias Paul AKA Paul van Dyk is highly influenced by politics, he was brought up by a single mother and lived a hard life as a child. He defines that electronic music is more than enough to stimulate anyone and does not support substance intake. One should quite agree with that! Making tapes for friends and then getting explored by the promoters is something that worked for Paul van Dyk. Since then, PvD has only pinnacled up his career as the topmost DJ.

With all the top EDM producers mixing their own weekly radio shows, PvD does Vonyc Sessions promoting artists of his label Vandit Recordings and some other great artists. PvD is a globe trotter and orbits the globe more than once in a year. Filling up clubs and entrancing the crowd with his genre blended music, PvD knows how to keep the crowd right on their feet.

PvD is connected to India a special way. He is amongst the top ranked DJs who performs in India, where EDM is at it's infant stage. He has tied up with an NGO organization 'Akanksha' that does charity for poor children. His album 'Reflection' was influenced by trips to India and was also nominated in the Grammy's. His track "Crush" was an instant hit creating menace on the dance floors.

PvD states that Trance music is always evolving with lots of upcoming talent EDM has to offer. He uses two laptops for his crazy live mixes and uses technology to it's best and that's what electronic music is all about, evolving technology and evolving music.

It gets difficult for us to absorb a man like PvD in words, one should definitely experience his gigs, a sure way to perish in his music. This is PvD and we love his music.
